LA FOLIA, per pianoforte
Il tema musicale conosciuto come La Follia di Spagna ha origini portoghesi, un tema popolare che dal XV secolo molti compositori hanno utilizzato per comporre delle variazioni. Le dodici variazioni composte da Matteo Ramon Arevalos, originariamente composte per pianoforte preparato, verranno eseguite per Crisalide XXIII nella versione per pianoforte; il tema sarà ricorrente e riconoscibile in tutto il suo sviluppo.
Matteo Ramon Arevalos, pianista e compositore. Diplomato in pianoforte al Conservatorio di Cesena, ha approfondito i propri studi a Vienna con Rudolf Kehrer e a New York con Oxana Yablonskaya. Come pianista ha collaborato in diverse formazioni musicali e teatrali (Fanny & Alexander, I. Feraud, Masque Teatro); di recente la pubblicazione del CD Sérimpie per ondes Martenot e pianoforte per la ReR Megacorp UK. Come compositore ha pubblicato per la College Music Vivo Marcia Fantasia e Nocturne 1996 per pianoforte. Ha realizzato la colonna sonora dei film di Elisabetta Sgarbi Raffaello - La Stanza della Segnatura (2010) e Sono rimasto senza parole (2012). Attualmente è attivo come solista nel repertorio contemporaneo e nell'esecuzione di alcuni suoi lavori per pianoforte e per pianoforte video-preparato.
Popular theme song known as La Follia of Spain it has indeed Portuguese origins, from the fifteenth century, many composers have used the theme to compose variations.
